Most conference rooms give you a table, a Wi-Fi password, and four blank walls. We give you that, too. Plus, food prepared on-site, a place to walk around during breaks, and a space that no one wants to leave after 3:00 p.m.

Lunch on site, not another taxi ride to the nearest place to eat

When the lunch bell rings, no one has to go looking for a place to eat. The food is prepared on-site by the same kitchen that runs Westerqwarn, and we’ll go over the lunch options together when you book to ensure they suit your group.

This means that the lunch break becomes part of the day, not an interruption to it. In the summer, we prefer to have our afternoon coffee break outdoors overlooking the Strömsholm Canal. In the winter, we gather indoors with a view of the mill setting. This is not a conference hotel. It’s a spot by the canal that just happens to have a conference room.

Half-day or full-day—the choice is yours. Both options include coffee, tea, snacks, and bottled water in the venue, as well as the equipment you need to get work done: a projector, whiteboard, flip chart, notepads, and Wi-Fi. We’ll go over the lunch options together when you book so they’re tailored to your group’s needs.

The Wind

Vinden is our dedicated conference room located on the top floor of the Magasinsbyggnaden. It offers a quiet environment, free from distractions, and is fully equipped with a projector, sound system, whiteboard, flip chart, and sofa sets for breaks.
We’ll customize the layout based on your needs:

For larger groups, there is Magasinet (130 seats) or Vinterterrassen (50 seats), both with windows overlooking the canal. For smaller, more formal occasions, Museet (60 seats) is ideal with its historic setting.

A kickoff is supposed to boost the group's energy. It's hard to do that when everyone is sitting in the same hotel conference room they've seen ten times before.

At Westerqwarn, the day unfolds differently. The agenda takes place at Vinden. Lunch is served by the canal. And once the agenda is complete, there’s the option to add something extra: a quiz night, live music, or on-site activities like darts and mini-golf (mini-golf during the season). Let us know what you’d like, and we’ll help you find a plan that works for you.

Westerqwarn is 20 minutes from Västerås and 30 minutes from Eskilstuna

Distance is a factor when the entire team needs to travel. We’re located 20 minutes from downtown Västerås via the E18 (Kolbäck exit), 30 minutes from Eskilstuna, and about 1.5 hours from Stockholm. Trains run to Kolbäck Station, which is a five-minute taxi ride from us. As the bus or cars turn onto the gravel road, you’ll first see the mill, then the canal. Free parking is available on site, and buses can access the area without any problems.

How many people can the venue accommodate, and what seating arrangements are available?

Vinden can accommodate up to 45 people, depending on the seating arrangement. We offer theater-style, classroom-style, boardroom-style, island-style, and U-shaped table arrangements. The number of seats varies depending on the layout; let us know how you’d like to work, and we’ll suggest the right seating arrangement. For larger groups, we offer Magasinet (130 seats) or Vinterterrassen (50 seats).

What's included in the half-day and full-day options?

A half-day costs 290 SEK per person plus 2,000 SEK for venue rental and includes a coffee break (morning or afternoon), lunch, candy, fruit, coffee, tea, mineral water, and a fully equipped venue. A full day costs 390 SEK per person plus 3,000 SEK for venue rental and includes a morning coffee break, lunch, and an afternoon coffee break. Everything else remains the same.

Do the prices include or exclude sales tax?

All prices listed are exclusive of VAT.

Can we combine the conference with an evening activity?

Yes. We’re used to adding quizzes, live music, or activities like darts and mini-golf (mini-golf during the season), and we’d be happy to help you find a setup that works for your group. Let us know what you have in mind, and we’ll include it in the quote.

Would this venue be suitable for a kickoff event, not just a conference?

Yes. Many groups hold meetings at Vinden during the day and wrap up with dinner at Magasinet or an evening at the Pub, which can accommodate up to 300 guests. Let us know what you’d like to accomplish during the day, and we’ll suggest an itinerary.
