Westerqwarn has stood by the Strömsholm Canal since the 19th century. First as a flour mill. Then as a warehouse, then in disrepair, then as a place of potential. Now as the spot where you’re sitting, wondering why you didn’t come here sooner.
The canal flows quietly by, just as it has for hundreds of years. On the other side lies the golf course. All around are forests, trails, and the kind of silence you only find outside the cities. Inside the mill, the air smells of sourdough and wood fire. It’s not a restaurant with a nice view.
It’s a place with a restaurant—and with concerts, campsites, mini-golf, an ice cream bar, and 1,400 people who’ve written to say they want to come back.

Wood-fired pizza, seasonal bistro
The wood-fired oven has been here since 2020. It hasn’t been cold since then. We bake pizza with sourdough that ferments for 48 hours, topped with fior di latte and prosciutto from Italy. On the bistro menu, you’ll find sirloin steak, baked char, and seasonal vegetables. Lunch is served Monday through Sunday.

What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. The parking lot is open year-round. Special hours apply during the Christmas dinner season (November–December).
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are welcome in most areas of the facility. There are some dog-free zones, and dog owners must follow the guidelines for their visit. Read more here: Dog Guidelines (PDF).
How far is it from Västerås?
20 minutes by car. Take the E18 toward Köping, then turn off toward Kolbäck. Free parking on site.
