The reception usually begins in the restaurant at the top of the old mill section. It seats 55, features wood paneling, and preserves details from the mill’s heyday. When it’s time for dinner, you’ll move on to Magasinet, our largest venue, with exposed wooden beams, a bar counter, and direct access to the summer terrace if the evening is mild. This space seats up to 130 guests at several long tables.
Once dinner is over, the Pub is already open. It’s located in the same building and can accommodate up to 300 guests, complete with a bar counter, sound system, and lighting. It has lower ceilings, a darker atmosphere, and a dance floor if you’d like one. There’s no extra charge for moving between venues. Everything takes place on the same evening and in the same building.

Magasinet is our largest and most versatile venue. We host everything from baptisms, memorial services, and anniversaries to corporate dinners, shrimp feasts, and private parties. With seating for up to 130 guests, there’s plenty of space for both small and large groups. The food is prepared on-site and served as a buffet or a three-course dinner. After dinner, the evening can continue with mingling, music, and dancing in the Pub, just a few steps away.
No two evenings at the mill are ever the same. But the mill knows roughly what’s needed, when, and how long it will last.

The meal is served either as a buffet or a three-course menu. A buffet is most common for 30 guests or more, while a three-course menu is typically served for seated dinners with 30 to 130 people in the same venue. We always accommodate special dietary requests on a case-by-case basis. The entire party must choose the same main course so that the kitchen can keep up.

The kitchen places orders based on the number of people, so the time needs to be set in advance
For groups of 30 to 40 guests, the final headcount must be provided at least one week in advance. For groups of more than 40 guests, two weeks in advance. Cancellations made after these deadlines will be charged as specified in the quote.
Please notify us of any special dietary requests at the same time. We tailor our services to individual needs and have done so in the past.
Westerqwarn is 20 minutes from Västerås and 30 minutes from Eskilstuna
Westerqwarn is located on the Strömsholm Canal in Kolbäck. It’s a 20-minute drive from downtown Västerås (take the Kolbäck exit on the E18), 30 minutes from Eskilstuna, and about 1.5 hours from Stockholm. Trains run to Kolbäck Station, which is a five-minute taxi ride from us. Free on-site parking is available.
As you turn onto the gravel road, you’ll see the mill first, then the canal. For guests traveling from afar, there are RV parking spots on the property. Wake up by the canal the next morning.

What is the minimum number of guests, and what is the maximum?
A minimum of 30 people is required to rent the venue. A maximum of 130 guests can be accommodated in Magasinet (seated at several long tables), 55 in the Restaurant, or up to 300 in the Pub for larger wedding receptions and corporate events.
What is the total cost?
Meals start at 279 SEK per person (filet buffet) or 579 SEK (three-course menu). A venue rental fee applies and depends on which venue you choose and which evening. We’ll get back to you with a quote after a brief discussion about the date, number of guests, and menu.
Which schedule is most common? Should we start with a get-together in the restaurant?
Yes, that’s the most common schedule. Cocktails upstairs in the Restaurant (55 seats), dinner downstairs in the Magasinet (130 seats), and then the Pub after dinner. There are no extra costs for moving between venues; all three are located in the same building.
When do we need to provide the final number of guests?
One week in advance for groups of 30 to 40 people. Two weeks in advance for groups of more than 40.

Can we order pizza from the wood-fired oven for the party?
Pizzas from the wood-fired pizza restaurant are not included in standard banquet reservations but are served during our regular business hours (Wed–Sun, 11 a.m.–9 p.m.). If you’d still like to have pizza for your party, we can arrange that separately—just let us know, and we’ll discuss the details.
Can we choose different menus within our group?
No, the entire party must choose the same main course so the kitchen can keep up. We always accommodate special dietary needs (allergies, vegetarian, gluten-free) on an individual basis.
What are the guidelines for a memorial service?
Memorial services are usually held at the Museum (up to 60 people) in a historic setting with preserved details. We offer a special menu for memorial services featuring a sandwich cake from Håkans Hembageri and beverages for 250 SEK per person, or 295 SEK with a slice of cake instead of pastries. We also provide a basic sound system and microphone for speeches or your own music. For groups of fewer than 30 people, there is an additional venue rental fee of 1,500 SEK.
